All languages have formal and informal registers, so I imagine Shiväisith would be no different. Here are the words you were looking for:
- Äshlimär “hello”
- Näkäthish “goodbye” (stress on second syllable)
- Ruushuudhith nolaska “thank you”
- Tifevadhoh “you’re welcome”
The second word in “thank you” is “you”, so it’d be nöönäsky if you were talking to two or more people. The second word is a phrase that got crammed together, hence the odd intervocalic k, and the odd stress (most words are stressed on the first syllable).
Shiväisith isn’t a big language (it didn’t need to be, for what I needed to do for The Dark World), so often questions will come in about things that simply haven’t been created yet (e.g. the word for “you’re welcome”, which I generated for this ask). I can try my best to keep up, but I’ve also got other work to do, so my responses may be slow—especially over the course of the next few months, which will be very busy for me. I’ll eventually get to everything, though! Thanks for the ask. :)
Just look at ‘hello’ and remember the dark elves’ words for ‘warm’ and ‘warmth’!
When my friend went to a Steven Moffat talk recently there was like a montage of the doctors to celebrate the 50th and she told me the one that had the biggest applause was Christopher Eccleston. I think that says a lot, really.
I wish I could work at home.
I don’t like what I do now. Yeah, I have money. Maybe not that many but I have some. Yeah, it is good. But sometimes I think I was happier without them and work. I was going mad knowing I wasn’t able to help my family but that freedom when you could go anywhere when you wanted it…
Sometimes I want to feel it again. But money…
Also I have no idea what I have to do in this life. I love my pets. I love writing in roleplays (but I lost my spark), I love Photoshop, books and languages. But what’s my cutie mark? What should I do?
Well, I think I will be an empty glass as I am now.
